A “natural and healthy” version of the natural vitamin A supplement, beta carotenoid foods, will be available in India in the next three months, the National Commission for Food Safety (NCFS) announced on Thursday.

“In the next few months, we will introduce beta carotinene products, in the same manner as the natural version of beta caronoids, which are a product of our culture and heritage,” NCFS chairman Bijay Maken said.

The products are expected to be sold in India, where beta carocholes have been used as an alternative to the chemical carotenes in various processed foods.
